Using AI to Tag Your Content Without Losing the Human Touch

JustAppend uses LLMs (large language models) and vLLMs intelligently for tagging your content. For example: when you save an image, the models look at entities and activities happening in it to come up with useful, accurate tags - not just “whatever an AI thinks.” For articles or files, we use the content itself, but nothing ever leaves your vault for processing.

The Human Touch

You can always edit, remove, or add your own tags. The system is built for human oversight at every step.

What we learnt about the "human need to touch":

Truth is, manual tagging sounds ideal until you realize nobody keeps it up. Over time, the AI is just more accurate and actually gets used - the alternative is most people stop tagging at all. We avoid the hype and focus on what genuinely works:

  • You’re in control: LLMs/vLLMs offer a first pass, you make any changes you want.
  • Private by design: All tagging runs by isolation - with mix of our local models or private third party models.
  • No delays: Instant, with no external API calls where it's possible - with later fill ins.

Manual-only systems break down - intelligent use of LLMs/vLLMs means your stuff stays organized without busywork.
