Automated Processing & AI

  • We use AI models to power certain features (such as intelligent auto-tagging and enriched extracts). These models process your content in real time to provide the service.
  • We do not train our AI models on your content. Your data is used solely to generate results for you and is not retained or used to improve third-party AI models.
  • If this policy changes in a future update, we will notify you before the change takes effect.

Legal Foundation of the Processing

  • Your data is managed by Kraftworks LLC., a legal entity based in Kentucky, USA.

International Data Transfers

  • Our infrastructure providers may process and store data outside your home country, including in the United States.
  • Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers of EU/UK user data.

Data Sharing With Third Parties

We share/host your data accordingly with these third parties in order to provide the service.

  • Cloud Compute Infrastructure providers: AWS, Cloudflare, Fly.io, Modal
  • Cloud Storage providers: AWS & Cloudflare
  • Analytics: PostHog
  • Payment Processor: Stripe, Apple/Google Payments

We don't sell your data. We don't share your data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Data Retention

  • We retain your data for as long as you use the service.
  • Should you delete your account, your data is purged from our system after 24 hours.
  • Retained backup copies of your data are kept separately and purged within 1 month of account deletion.

Security of Your Data

  • Your data is stored in isolated vaults at rest with AES 256-bit encryption, decrypted and returned when you need it.
  • Your data is isolated at its processing & storage levels.
  • We secure your data on our servers. You're responsible for securing the devices and local storage (browser, phone, or disk) you use to access it.

Your Rights

You retain ownership of your data and its metadata. Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your content in a portable format
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not currently sell or share data, but this right remains available to you)

Children's Privacy

Append is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at contact@justappend.com and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll notify you of material changes before they take effect.
